Funding for the CETL Initiative, which includes InQbate, finished in March 2010.For information about using the Brighton Creativity Centre please see their website here.Sussex Creativity Zone From the 1st August the Sussex Creativity Zone will come under the management of the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA). As the ACCA Creativity Zone, there will be two changes: Firstly, whilst it will still be possible for any school or unit to book this space, priority will be given to activities in the ACCA, and the associated disciplines in the schools of Media, Film and Music, and the school of English, to reflect a growth in those activities. Although the space will be included in the On-line Room Bookings System (ORBS), requests for bookings in 2010/11 (i.e. from 1st August) will need to be made through Elaine Saunders in the MFM school office (email: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ). Secondly, the technology available in the Creativity Zone is being re-modelled so that while the space will still present scope for more advanced use of technology in teaching, users will be able to access and control the technology themselves, supported by a mix of printed and online user guides. IT Services will maintain the technical facilities, but will not normally be able to facilitate novel uses of these facilities. TLDU are also available to discuss any broader questions relating to novel teaching approaches, and to build on previous experiences of events held in the creativity zone. Many thanks to all of our colleagues and clients over the past 5 yrs. The InQbate team
The Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Creativity InQbate, The CETL in Creativity, is a joint initiative between the University of Sussex and the University of Brighton building on their excellent track record of collaborating in the areas of design, innovation and creativity. InQbate explores how a technology-rich environment can support the creative process, in both science and arts subjects. Two Creativity Zones form the centrepiece of InQbate and offer exciting opportunities for students to work in spaces that foster collaborative, self-directed and experiential learning. InQbate will produce a series of multidisciplinary case studies and practice guides.
